Academic Technology provides eight computer classrooms and supporting computer lab work areas in five separate facilities for the use of all University of Florida students, faculty, and staff. All eight classrooms are available for reservation by instructors for UF classes or seminars. Academic Technology can install software in its labs and computer classrooms for courses that require specific software. If you would like to share work, collect assignments or use other collaborative tools for your course or seminar, please visit e-Learning Support Services to see the many types of collaborative solutions available.
Software applications, require a significant amount of time to configure, test and deploy, and should be delivered to Alex Oumantsev no less than one month in advance to ensure a satisfactory installation.
All software usage in the labs must conform to the vendor's licensing agreement. A copy of the license agreement, proof of purchase or a vendor's letter of authorization to copy must accompany any commercial software that you want made available in Academic Technology labs. Software will not be installed without proof of license. Academic Technology will retain the original software media and license. In the event that software deemed necessary for a class needs to be purchased, Academic Technology may match funds with the requesting deparment if funds are available.
